15 Months Old

We had Mikaela's 15 month old appointment on Thursday.

Here are her stats:

Weight: 20.5 (30%)
Length: 30'' (35%)
Head: 18.75 (90%)

She has 8 teeth fully in (4 top, 4 bottom) but 2-3 more have broken through, at least as far as I can feel.

She still faces backwards in the car, which it's starting to annoy her some, I think, but since she just barely meets the weight requirements and hasn't run out of leg room quite yet, the doc said to leave her facing back.

New to her vocabulary this month is ball (in English) and mine (in Spanish). Between the two languages, she has about 8 words: 5 English (ball, up, help (which sounds very similar to up), mama, dada) and 3 Spanish (hola, mas, mio).  She also has about 10 signs: please, milk, more, eat, help, clean-up, bath, cheese, all done, daddy.  She has a mystery sign she uses consistently but we've yet to figure out it's meaning.

She makes some of the silliest expressions.  We've had frowning faces, fish face, and the whistle (see below).

 We've been introducing silverware to her.  At times, it seems she really uses them; other times, she just has a utensil in hand while she picks up food with her other hand.  

 Hanging out one morning watching cartoons from her Peanuts chair.

 

 One of her new favorite activities is riding her toy horse.

 

She loves to dance.  Her Jesus-Loves-Me bear is still a popular favorite for dancing.   She has learned how to turn the bear on and off herself.  We are having difficulties uploading the video, however.  Sorry!

And that's what Mikaela is doing at 15 months.
