Mikaela Talks
Tonight we went to Frisco's Fire Safety Town. While there, we were able to see Santa. As we were leaving she told Santa, "Happy Birthday!" Pictures to come.

Mikaela Talks
Last night while reading stories for bedtime, she was identifying various objects in a picture. Mike would point to it, and she'd name it. Grapes, apple, car, etc. When Mike pointed to the camera she said, "Say cheese."

New York, Part 12: Everything Else
Here are some random photos from the rest of our trip. We saw a variety of other things along the way to our tourist destinations so I'll post them here.

Penn Station, where we caught the train to the airport
a shout out to all my teacher friends
boarding the subway train
a decoration outside our hotel

photo with my cousin, Christy, who fed us a delicious Thanksgiving meal in her Manhattan apartment
a view of the city from Newark
We had a 2 1/2 hour layover in the Twin Cities on our way back to Dallas. Honestly, if you have to be stuck in an airport, this one is the place to be. It was so nice with lots to do and see.
We had a fabulous time and look forward to going there again someday. We are so grateful to Donna's folks and sister for watching Mikaela while we were gone. Hope everyone enjoyed these 12 installments of our New York City adventure.
New York, Part 11: Empire State Building
After Macy's, we walked down the street to the Empire State Building. Because it was night, we don't have great shots, but the view was pretty, despite the bitter cold winds.

New York, Part 10: Macy's
Friday evening we met up with our friends at the 34th street Macy's. They aren't kidding when they say it's the largest department store. We went on all 9 floors of this place, just on the Broadway side. We never even made it to the 7th street side. It was all decorated for Christmas and very crowded. It was a popular stop for Black Friday shoppers, of course.

New York, Part 9: 911 Memorial
The pictures aren't spectacular because the sun was down before we went, but it was still great to see it, say a little prayer for those victims' families, and remember.
