ICE!

On Saturday, we went with some friends from our church LifeGroup to ICE! at the Gaylord Texan.  This year's theme was Charlie Brown Christmas.  Despite the frigid temperatures in order the keep the exhibit from melting, it was a neat experience and a lot of fun.  Warning: There are a lot of pictures in this post.

There were pretty decorations to admire as you advanced through the line.

 After a video explaining how ICE was created and a few directions, we were all given parkas to wear.  If only we had remembered our gloves!

 Mikaela's parka was as long as she was and the sleeves were twice as long as her arms. 

She looks a little annoyed here.  She wasn't exactly thrilled with the parka, but was a really good sport through the entire thing.  It wasn't until the very end, when we were all really cold, that she even began to fuss. As long as I or Pam was holding her, she was fine.

 The exhibit goes through the cartoon of A Charlie Brown Christmas, starting with the ice skating, and Charlie Brown and Linus at the wall, and ending with the revived tree and all the characters singing.

 The auditorium housed giant ice slides.  Pam and I were going to go, but the line was really long so we didn't.  Mikaela and the boys were getting cold.

 This kid was always my favorite dancer in the cartoon, so I posed with him.

After all of the Peanuts sculptures, you walk through an ice tunnel and enter a room with this angel sculpture and the entire Nativity while the story of Christ's birth is played over the loudspeaker.

 After we finished at ICE, we walked around the atrium/lobby area to thaw out and see the decorations there.
